LexisNexis Again Ranks in Top 5 for Electronic Discovery Services and Software

LexisNexis, a leading global provider of information and services solutions, has earned top rankings in 18 categories in the recently published 2008 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Report, including the highest possible ranking in the overall "Electronic Discovery Service Provider" and "Electronic Discovery Software Provider" categories.

The annual report is an independent and authoritative review capturing market size and scope, as well as trends, issues, provider standing and more within the e-discovery industry. Results are based on comprehensive survey responses from law firms, corporations and providers of discovery services, along with analysis from leading industry experts George Socha and Tom Gelbmann. Results of the survey were published in the August issue of Law Technology News.

Software

Electronic discovery software from LexisNexis is provided by Concordance(R) and LAW PreDiscoveryTM. These products achieved Top 5 rankings for LexisNexis in the overall "Electronic Discovery Software Provider" category, as well as seven other categories including "Processing," "Review," "Analysis," "Production," and "Use of Software by Others."

In addition to LexisNexis placing in the Top 5 in software categories for the fourth year in a row, this year marks the fifth year in a row that the Socha-Gelbmann survey found that Concordance placed among the top electronic discovery programs used by U.S. law firms.

Services

Electronic discovery services from LexisNexis are primarily provided by Applied Discovery. Law firm and corporate counsel rated Applied Discovery as a "Top 5" provider in the overall "Electronic Discovery Services Provider" category, as well as Top 5 in nine other categories including "Identification, "Collection," "Processing," "Review," "Analysis," "Production," and "Presentation."

The 2008 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey gathered information from or about 107 e-discovery services and software providers, and from 29 law firms and 19 corporations. Using more than 350 qualitative and quantitative factors, the independent researchers ranked those providers – top overall e-discovery services providers, top e-discovery software providers and top e-discovery providers in various categories.
