Account Control Technology, Inc. (ACT), a national leader in delivering debt management and recovery solutions, is pleased to announce it has formally established the Account Control Technology Foundation (ACT Foundation). The non-profit, charitable Foundation was set up at the behest of ACT’s founders, Dale and Debbie Van Dellen, to support education, build financial literacy, fund vital charities and provide community support.
“Ongoing education is extremely important for the future of our communities and the nation as a whole,” said Dale Van Dellen, Chairman of ACT as well as the ACT Foundation. “The Foundation exists to both promote higher education and ensure that students enter the workforce on solid financial footing.”
Over his 30 years in the debt management industry, Van Dellen was repeatedly inspired by the need to encourage college students to plan their financial futures while still in college – or even high school – such that they could mitigate the impact of student loan debt on their lives. This in mind, the stated mission of the ACT Foundation is: “To improve the future of students and the greater community by offering financial literacy and debt management education, mentorship and support to those in need.”
The ACT Foundation is currently demonstrating its support for education through the establishment of the ACT Cares Community Scholarship Program, which will award five $1,000 scholarships to qualifying students from select schools in the communities surrounding ACT’s offices in Bakersfield, California; Canoga Park, California; Mason, Ohio; Dallas, Texas and San Angelo, Texas. A total of 25 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Details for this program are now available on the Foundation’s web page: www.accountcontrolfoundation.org
Later this year, the ACT Foundation will roll out its Second-Year Scholarship Program for college sophomores nationwide, through which another 25 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. In addition, as it develops its online presence, the Foundation will post financial literacy and debt education programs to help students prepare to effectively manage their debt. The Foundation’s activities will also include providing assistance to local and national charities, particularly those supported by ACT employees.
“ACT has a long tradition of charitable support, and our focus on service is ingrained within our corporate culture,” said Nabil Kabbani, CEO of ACT and Board Member of the ACT Foundation. “Through the example of our founders and the generosity of our employees and partners, ACT will continue to have a significantly positive impact for clients, consumers and our communities for many years to come.”
