Weinberg Selected as Community Champion by Care Alliance

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (WWR) is pleased to announce that Alan H. Weinberg, Managing Partner of its Real Estate Default Group, will receive an award as a Community Champion from Care Alliance at its annual fundraiser on Nov 9, 2013.

Care Alliance is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary medical care, dental care and supportive services to individuals living in extreme poverty in Cleveland, Ohio. Its mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive medical and dental care, patient advocacy and related services to people who need them most, regardless of ability to pay. The annual fundraising gala, Let’s Talk Turkey, raises funds to support the delivery of essential medical, dental and supportive services to the nearly 10,000 homeless and low-income patients in Cuyahoga County.

Alan Weinberg

Mr. Weinberg has been actively involved with Care Alliance as both a Board member and the Chair of this annual fundraising event for the past 14 years. During that period of time, Let’s Talk Turkey has raised in the vicinity of $1,000,000.  Clients of the Firm have been most generous to partner with WWR by being major supporters of this event, which has contributed to its success.

Mr. Weinberg, formerly the firm’s Managing Partner for 17 years, is a Senior Partner of the firm and the Managing Partner of the Real Estate Default Group, based in the Cleveland office. Alan earned his B.A. magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics from Boston University in 1971 and his J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1974. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the Army Finance School. A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Alan is licensed in Ohio and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio) and the U.S. Supreme Court. Alan is currently a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law sections of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, the Northern Ohio Credit Association and the Ohio Creditors Attorneys Association (former Educational Chairman). He is certified as a Creditors’ Rights Specialist by the American Board of Certification and was appointed Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General from 2003 to May, 2012. Alan has been selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers from 2004-2013 and is an AV Preeminent Peer Review rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
