National Asset Recovery Services, Inc. (NARS) daycare@work Tuesday held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their newly expanded and upgraded daycare playground with interactive bicycle paths. The improvements were made with the assistance of the State of Missouri Child Care Facility Improvement Grant award and through many fundraisers held by the daycare staff. A large play structure for two-year olds and above, interactive bike riding area with new bicycles, and an infant/toddler area complete with tree house and bike riding area tailored for their age group was installed.
NARS Founder Chris Buehrle commented, “The play area is a wonderful space for the children to enjoy the outdoors and improve physical fitness while enjoying free play in a safe environment. In addition to the playground area, the daycare staff also helped the children plant the Children’s Enrichment Garden for the third consecutive year.”
This Spring, the children chose cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, strawberries and flowers for their project. In a continuation of the creative learning curriculum at daycare@work, this interactive learning experience teaches lessons in horticulture science, nature study and environmental principles such as nutrition, transfer of energy (photosynthesis), plant propagation and soil.
daycare@work, initially an employee only daycare center, recently opened its doors to the local community, offering quality daycare and preschool programs for children aged 2 weeks to twelve years. Meeting the needs of working parents, the daycare is open from 5:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The daycare also welcomes children of parents with Missouri and Illinois state assistance, including the foster care program. All daycare@work teachers hold a degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA certification and are CPR and First Aid certified.
“The daycare is in the heart of Cape Girardeau and a convenient place for local parents to find peace of mind that their children are being cared for in a creative learning environment,” said daycare Director Jaime Drum.
NARS Founder Chris Buehrle also announced that NARS will be hiring an additional 100+ employees in the coming months due to an expansion of their service offerings in the Cape Girardeau call center.
In attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony were Cape Girardeau Mayor Harry Rediger, Executive Director of Cape Area Magnet, Mitch Robinson and Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce President, John Mehner.
